He’s another year older….He enjoyed this surprise party.
I am not going to bore you with pictures as you can go look them up yourself, but I wanted to drop a quick few words about my Kindle Fire. I purchased this just before Christmas and am loving it. I think the price and quality of the device is great. The screen size is good, the response is fast (especially after the most recent update) and overall wouldn’t be caught without it anymore.
I don’t use it for reading though….I have a Kindle Keyboard for that. The screen is just too bright for me to read with for more than just a few minutes and the E-Ink screen of my Kindle Keyboard is much nicer. But the screen resolution is great for surfing the web and/or playing games. I also like the larger screen size for writing documents and/or excel spreadsheets.
I need a negative item to balance out my review and the only thing I can think of at this time is the speaker ports…The are on the bottom of the device and that works great if you are listening to music or so, but I tend to watch Netflix movies a lot on the Fire. If I am not using headphones, the sound does not carry very well when the Fire is lying on its side.
I am not going to bore you with pictures because you can go look them up yourself, but I wanted to spend a few minutes giving my two cents about my new phone.
First, let me say that I love it. It is clean and crisp, light and comfortable in the hand. It is fast and has quick responses. The colors are vibrant and the large screen allows a lot of real estate for viewing.
As with any Windows 7+ phone, the tiles are usable, but I do wish there was a bit more flexibility. The app store is still a bit more limited than what I had with my iPhone, but I have a strong suspicion that will grow over the next year.
Having the ability to have all my in-boxes separate if I want them and combined if I don’t is a great feature. The 4G LTE connection is as fast as you could want it and browsing is clean and fast.
I really need to give some sort of negative to be a completely balanced review, but I just can find one yet…If something does rear its ugly head, I will let you know.
I mean seriously….Was this FUCKING necessary?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Well, we have now moved into 2012 and I don’t think much has changed. I don’t think much is going to change either. I have been a bit lax on posting lately and am going to try to correct that. We’ll begin tomorrow with a review of my new Windows 7 Phone, my new Kindle Fire and an update on my family and holiday experiences.
